New Swar Mandir

New Swar Mandir is located at 78 A, right near the Zero Road Bus Station. Because we are so close to the bus stand, there is a constant stream of people walking past our door and the sound of conductors shouting out destinations all day long. It is a very lively spot, though it can get a bit overwhelming with the exhaust fumes and the crowds. Our shop is where we keep all the musical instruments and sound equipment. We have things hanging from the walls and stacked on the floor, so you have to be careful where you step. People often wander in while they are waiting for their bus, just to look at the harmoniums or ask about a guitar string. We spend a lot of time tuning instruments or testing out speakers, so there is usually some kind of music or noise coming from the shop. The dust from the road is a constant battle, and we are forever wiping down the glass cases to keep things looking decent. It is not a quiet place for contemplation, but it is a great spot for meeting all kinds of people from different towns. We have been here at Zero Road for years, and we have become a bit of a landmark for folks looking for anything related to music. We just open the doors and see who the day brings in.
