Taha General Store

Opening up Shop No. 12 every morning in Daulatganj is just what we do here at Taha General Store. If you head down that unnamed road in Muftiganj, you'll find us right near Masjid Aisha. It’s a quiet enough spot most days, though the street gets busy when prayer time comes around. We’ve got all sorts of things packed onto the shelves, mostly just the basics people in the neighborhood need every day. Sometimes the delivery trucks have a bit of a hard time finding the exact turn because the road doesn't have a proper name on the maps, but everyone around here knows where we are. We try to keep a bit of everything, from soap to snacks, so people don't have to walk too far. The shop isn't very big, but we make use of every inch of space we have. There is always something to reorganize or a box to unpack. Most of the people who come in are neighbors we've seen for years. We chat for a minute while they pick out what they need and then they’re on their way. It’s a simple life running a store in this part of town. Sometimes the light inside isn't the brightest, but we know where everything is kept. We’ve been here a good while now and the routine stays pretty much the same. It’s just about making sure the shelves aren't empty when someone walks through the door.
