Shree Jaiswal Store

Shree Jaiswal Store is located in Jayantipur, right in the Sulem Sarai area of Allahabad. We are on the G T Road too, but a bit further down in the 211001 zip code. It is a very old and busy part of the city. I have spent many years behind this counter, watching the neighborhood grow and change. We keep all the regular things you would expect to find in a general store. The shelves are packed with everything from spices to washing powder. It gets quite dusty with all the vehicles on the G T Road, so I am always wiping down the counters and the jars. We don't have a big team or anything, just a few of us making sure the customers get what they need quickly. Sulem Sarai has a lot of families who have been coming to us for years. I like the routine of opening the shop and seeing the same faces every morning. It is a practical kind of life. Sometimes the deliveries are late and I have to explain why we are out of something, but people around here are understanding. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks. We just stay open and keep the shelves full as best as we can. It’s just a honest way to earn a living in Allahabad. Most days are busy and loud, but that is just how life is on the main road.
