Shabu General Store

Down in Jhunsi, specifically at the Morya Complex, you’ll find Shabu General Store. We are at C P Ten. It’s a decent-sized spot where we sell all sorts of general items that a regular household might need. Allahabad, or Prayagraj as many people call it now, has its own slow pace, and we fit right into it. We aren't doing anything flashy or special here. The shop has racks filled with soaps, detergents, biscuits, and some stationery items too. Sometimes the students from the nearby residential areas come in looking for pens or notebooks for their classes. It gets quite busy during the festival seasons because everyone is out shopping in the complex. I spend most of my day sitting behind the counter, talking to regular customers and checking the stock levels. The inventory changes depending on what people have been asking for lately. If a few people ask for something we don't have, I try to get it in the next delivery from the city. It’s just about being useful to the people who live nearby in Jhunsi. We don't have a big corporate team or a manager, just a couple of us making sure the doors stay open and the shelves stay stocked. It’s hard work, especially when it’s very hot outside, but it’s what we do. We've been here for a while and don't plan on going anywhere. It is just a simple shop for simple people. We keep things moving as best as we can.
