Prabhu Mega Mart-Shara Q Shop

This is Prabhu Mega Mart, though the sign also says Sahara Q Shop. We are located in Mutthi Ganj, Allahabad, specifically at 1009 Kalibadi Lane. The pin code is 211003. If you know the Mutthiganj area, you know the lanes are pretty narrow and it gets very crowded during the festivals. Our shop is right in the middle of all that. It’s an old building and we’ve tried to make the best use of the space we have. It can be a bit of a squeeze when more than four people are inside at once. We handle all the loading and unloading ourselves, which is a lot of work since the big trucks can't get down Kalibadi Lane easily. We have to use small carts to bring the goods from the main road. It's a lot of sweat and lifting. Most of our customers have been living in Mutthiganj for generations, so we know everyone’s name and what they usually buy. We don't have a big staff, just family mostly. The shop stays quite cool because of the thick walls, which is a relief in the Allahabad heat. It’s not a perfect place, it’s a bit cluttered and the lighting is a bit dim in the back, but it’s our business and we've been here a long time. We just keep the doors open and do what we can every day.
