Pari General Store

Pari General Store is situated right near Abhay Hotel in the Bai Ka Bagh area of Allahabad. It is a convenient spot for anyone living around here. The shop has been in the family for quite some years. We sell the basic things you need for a kitchen, like rice, tea, spices, and matchboxes. It is not a very big place, so we have to stack the boxes pretty high. Sometimes I have to use a ladder to reach the stuff at the top. The road outside is often being dug up or fixed, so plenty of dust gets inside every time a car passes by. We clean the jars every morning, but it is a losing battle. Neighbors usually stop by in the evenings to pick up their eggs or bread. It is a nice time of day when everyone is out talking. I usually sit on a small stool by the door. The lights inside are a bit dim, but we know where every single item is kept. We don't use any big computers for the bills, just a simple calculator and some paper. If the power goes out, which happens sometimes, we just use a torch to find what you need. It is just a regular local shop for regular people. We aren't trying to do anything fancy here, just making sure the shelves have what the neighborhood needs every day.
