New Men

New Men is located at G-6 on M G Marg in the Civil Lines area of Allahabad. We are right inside Indira Bhawan. If you know Allahabad, Civil Lines is the heart of the city, so it’s always a very active place. Our shop is a straightforward men’s salon. We handle haircuts, shaves, and the occasional head massage. It’s a small space but it works for what we need. The chairs are the old-fashioned kind that are comfortable for a long shave. We have the tools of the trade spread out on the counters. Men from all over the city come here, especially those working in the offices around Indira Bhawan. It gets particularly crowded on Sunday mornings when everyone wants to look sharp for the week. We don’t do anything too complicated. It’s mostly about a clean cut and a smooth shave. The walls have some simple decorations and we usually have the news or some music playing in the background to keep the atmosphere easy. M G Marg is a busy road, so there’s always a lot of noise from outside, but inside we just focus on the customer in the chair. We’ve been here for a good amount of time and seen the city change quite a bit from our spot in G-6. It’s a honest living and we take pride in just doing the job right without any of the extra fluff you see elsewhere. We just keep the scissors sharp and the towels ready.
