Mohan General Store

Mohan General Store is tucked away at 8 Bamubarakpur in the Bamrauli area of Allahabad. It’s a quiet part of town compared to the main city center. Our shop is just a small room filled with whatever we think the neighbors might need. I’ve lived in Allahabad all my life, and opening this store was a way to stay rooted here. We have things for the kitchen, some basic medicines, and plenty of snacks for the kids who stop by after school. The address, 211012, is a place where everyone knows everyone else. I don't have a big staff; usually, it's just me sitting behind the wooden counter. Sometimes the dog from next door comes in to sleep in the shade when it’s hot outside. The walls are a bit faded, and the shelves have been repaired a few times with bits of spare wood. It’s not the most modern shop, but it’s reliable. People know they can come here and find what they need without having to travel all the way into the busier parts of Allahabad. We don't do any big promotions or have fancy bags. We just wrap things in newspaper or put them in simple plastic bags. It’s an honest way to spend the day, and I enjoy talking to the regulars who come in every morning for their milk. Sometimes the deliveries are late, but nobody really minds much, we just wait until the truck arrives later.
