Maa Shanti General Store

Maa Shanti General Store is our little shop located in Naya Bairahana, right here in Allahabad. We are positioned along the G T Road, which as everyone knows, is always full of vehicles and people moving through Uttar Pradesh. Our specific spot in Bairhana is easy to find if you are familiar with the 211003 area. We keep a variety of household goods that folks around here need for their kitchens or daily cleaning. It is a small space so things are stacked pretty high on the shelves to make sure we have enough stock. Every morning we sweep the front and open the shutters to start the day. The sun hits the front of the shop quite hard in the afternoons, so we usually sit back in the shade and wait for customers. It is a family-run kind of place, so you will often see one of us sitting there reading a newspaper or chatting with a neighbor. We don't have any big signs or flashy lights. People come here because it is convenient and we are right on their way home. Living and working in Bairhana means we see the same faces every day, which is nice. We just want to make sure the locals can get their basic supplies without having to go too far. It is a simple shop with a simple way of doing things on G T Road.
