Lalti General Store

Lalti General Store is located in Lavan Gav, which is part of the Bamrauli area in Allahabad. It is a bit away from the main city rush, which I actually like. The pincode here is 211012. I opened this shop because there wasn't much else around for the people living nearby. We carry the essentials, mostly food items and household cleaners. It is a humble setup, nothing like the shiny stores you see in the city center. In Allahabad, we have the humidity to deal with, so I try to keep everything dry and fresh. The floor is just concrete, and the shelves are made of simple wood. I do the lifting and stocking myself most of the time. My wife helps out in the evenings when I need to go run errands or take a short break. We know most of the families around here. When someone is short on cash, I sometimes let them pay me back later. You can't do that in a big supermarket. It is about trust in a small village area like this. The shop is small, so it gets crowded if more than three people are inside at once. We just manage. It is a quiet life in Bamrauli. I don't expect to get rich, just to provide for my family. People come by for a chat and a packet of biscuits. That is what a general store is for.
