Jan Kalyan Human Rights And Crime Control Foundation

The foundation is based in Allahabad at 1G/5H/9F, Radha K, in the Kalindipuram area. It’s a residential neighborhood, so it feels very much like a community-run place. We focus on human rights and also keep an eye on crime control issues around the city. Our address is a bit long to write down, but once you find Radha K, it is easy to spot us. The office is usually filled with stacks of papers and local residents coming in to report things or ask for advice. We don't have a fancy reception desk; you just walk in and talk to whoever is available. Allahabad-211011 is home for us, and we know the streets around Kalindipuram like the back of our hands. Sometimes we go out into the neighborhood to talk to people directly instead of waiting for them to come to us. It’s a lot of walking and talking. The team is made of locals who just want to see things get better in our own backyard. We don't use big words or complicated processes. We just try to see where the problems are and what can be done about them. The office can get a bit hot in the summer because the old fan makes a lot of noise, but we get the work done regardless. We’ve been part of this Uttar Pradesh community for quite some time now.
