Gupta General Store

I’ve been working at Gupta General Store for quite some time now. We are tucked away in the Municipal Market on Bajaja Patty Road here in Allahabad. The city is always moving, and this road is no different. It gets pretty loud with the rickshaws and people talking. My day usually starts early when I pull up the metal shutters. It’s a bit stiff, but that’s how it is. Inside, I’ve got shelves lined with all sorts of stuff. We carry things like flour, soaps, some packets of biscuits, and basic household items that everyone needs. I don’t try to do anything fancy. It’s just a regular shop where people from the neighborhood can pick up what they forgot to buy earlier. Sometimes the sun hits the front of the store quite hard in the afternoons, so I have to sit back a bit further. I know most of the people who walk through the door. We chat about the weather or how the market is doing today. It’s not a big corporate place, just a small corner in Allahabad where I spend my time. The address is easy to find if you are near the city center. I try to keep everything organized, but with so many small boxes, it’s a constant job. Anyway, that’s pretty much what goes on here daily. No big story, just a shop on the road.
