Fehmina Stall

If you walk through the Kareli area in Allahabad, you’ll find us near Mansoor Park. We are right there in Gulab Bari. It’s a stall, so don’t expect a big building with glass doors. It’s more of an open spot where we serve whatever is fresh for the day. Fehmina Stall has been part of this street for some time now. The area around Mansoor Park gets quite lively in the evenings with children playing and people taking walks. We open up and start getting things ready while the sun is still out. It’s dusty sometimes, and the noise from the bikes passing by never really stops, but that’s Kareli for you. We don’t have a massive menu or anything like that. We focus on a few things and try to get them done properly every single day. My hands are usually busy with something, whether it’s cleaning or serving. People come here because it’s convenient and they know us by name. We don’t do any advertising; the stall is just there for whoever passes by. Sometimes we run out of things early if it’s a busy Saturday. We just try to keep the place tidy and the customers satisfied with their snacks. It’s a simple life running a stall in Gulab Bari, but it keeps us busy and connected to the people living around here. We just hope people enjoy what we make and come back tomorrow when we open again.
