Baijnath Traders

If you go to Ward No. 5 in Malviya Nagar, Koraon, you’ll find us near the Shiv Temple. It’s a good spot because everyone knows the temple. Baijnath Traders has been here for years. You can hear the temple bells in the morning when we are setting up. It’s a quiet area mostly, though it gets crowded during festivals. We sell a variety of things, and the shop is usually filled with bags and boxes. There isn't much space to move around, but we know where everything is. The wooden counter is worn down where people lean on it to talk. We spend more time chatting with our neighbors than we probably should, but that’s how small towns work. We don't have a marketing strategy. People come to us because they know us and they know we won’t overcharge them. My uncle started this, and now we just keep it going. The light inside isn’t very bright, so we usually keep the front doors wide open to let the sun in. Sometimes we sit on the steps outside when business is slow. We aren't looking to become some huge corporation. We just want to be the place where people in Koraon can get what they need for their homes or farms. It’s a simple life and we’re happy with it. We hope to stay here for many more years to come and serve the local folks.
