Our place is right over at 599/1 in Shastri Nagar, which most people around here know is in the Kareli part of town. We’re pretty close to the Durga Puja Ground, so things get really loud and busy around that time of year with all the celebrations and the crowds passing by. It is just a regular building where we set up a few rooms for students to sit and study. There isn't anything fancy about the desks or the walls, but it works for what we do every day. Allahabad can get quite hot in the summer months, so we try to keep the fans running all day long. Sometimes the electricity acts up, but that is just how it is in this part of town and we just deal with it. We’ve been here for a bit now, and most of the kids from the neighborhood just walk over after their school finishes for the day. You’ll see them hanging around outside the gate sometimes before the next batch starts up. It is a bit of a climb if you aren't used to it, but the location is easy to find if you tell the rickshaw driver to head toward the ground. We have a whiteboard in each room and some old chairs that have seen better days, but they do the job just fine. My brother helps out with the books sometimes, and we just try to get through the work without making too much of a fuss. Anyway, it’s just a local spot for learning.
