Ram Shyma Store

Our store is tucked away in Kanhaiya Katra, which is part of the Raja Darwaja area. It’s one of those traditional market spots where everything is close together and the lanes are full of history. We’ve been here for a long time, and the shop has seen a lot of changes in the neighborhood. It’s a small space, filled to the ceiling with whatever we’re stocking at the moment. You won't find any big glass windows or shiny floors here. It’s more of a place where you come in, ask for what you need, and we find it for you in the stacks. The air is always a bit dusty from the street outside and there’s a constant hum of people talking and carts moving through the katra. We open up early and usually stay until the sun goes down. Most of our regulars are people who have lived in Raja Darwaja their whole lives. We sit on our stools, drink tea, and wait for the next person to walk through the door. It’s a very manual way of doing things, but it’s what we know. We don't use computers much; most of our notes are kept in paper ledgers that we pile on the desk. It’s a bit messy sometimes, but we know where everything is. Living and working in this part of town means you're never lonely, even on the quiet days when the heat keeps people inside.
