Deepa Kirana & General Store

Deepa Kirana & General Store is a small shop located in the village of Assam Garh. We are under the Dhangarh Post Office in the Kunda Tehsil of Pratapgarh district. This is a quiet area where most people know each other. We sell basic things like flour, pulses, biscuits, and daily household items. The store is part of the village life, really. People stop by not just to buy stuff, but often to just say hello. We don't have a fancy display or bright lights. It’s just wooden shelves and a counter. Sometimes we have to wait for the supplies to come in from the main town in Kunda, which can take a while if the roads are bad. We try to keep enough stock so that the village folks don't have to travel far for their basic needs. The building is simple and has been here for years. We open up early in the morning when the sun comes up and keep it going until it gets dark. It’s a family-run kind of thing. We don't use any fancy billing machines, just a notebook and a pen mostly. It works for us and it works for the neighbors. We are just happy to be a part of the village and help out with the general items people need for their homes every day. Sometimes kids come in with a few coins for some candy, and we spend a few minutes chatting with them before they go. It is a simple life.
