Universal Slate Exports

Our unit is number 97 in the industrial estate. It is mostly a big open warehouse where we deal with slate tiles and slabs. We have been in this spot for quite a few years. If you come by, you will likely see us in the back checking the crates. Slate is a bit tricky because it likes to flake or crack if you don’t handle it the right way. We spend a lot of time sorting through the pieces to make sure the sizes are what they should be. The industrial estate gets really busy in the afternoon with all the delivery vans, so it can be a bit of a headache to get in and out sometimes. We don't have a front showroom or anything like that. People usually just find us through word of mouth or by looking at the sign on the gate. It's a small group of us working here. We know each other well and we have a routine that works. Most of the day is spent packing boxes or loading pallets. The floor is always a bit dusty no matter how many times we sweep it, but that's just the nature of stone work. We just stay focused on getting the orders ready. It’s not the most exciting job in the world, but it keeps us busy and we like the people we work with. We just keep things moving along day by day without much fuss.
