Sreekantahphani Kumari

My name is Sreekantahphani Kumari, though most people just call me Phani because it is easier. I am based out of Alluru, which is a post area in the Kotha Patnam mandal of the Prakasam district. Specifically, I am working from the house of M. Sadananda Rao. It is a rural area, very different from the big cities like Vijayawada. The pace of life here in Andhra Pradesh is governed by the seasons and the weather. When it is harvest time, everything slows down or gets very busy depending on who you are talking to. Our office is just a small part of the main house. It has a ceiling fan, a sturdy wooden table, and plenty of ledgers for keeping track of things. I do not use much high-tech equipment, just what is absolutely necessary to keep the records straight. The village is small enough that I know almost everyone who walks by the front gate during the day. Sometimes they stop to chat about the rain or the local crops before we get down to any actual business. It is a quiet life, but I have grown to like it that way. I handle a lot of the administrative tasks for the family and the small interests we have in the area. It is not a fancy job and it requires a lot of patience. You have to be okay with things taking a little longer than usual.
