Sanghamitra Hospitals Pvt Ltd. is situated right at the south bypass junction. It is a very busy intersection where the highway meets the local roads. There are always trucks and cars zooming past, so the sound of horns is something we hear all day and night. Being at a junction means we get a lot of people who are just passing through or who have had trouble on the road. The building is quite large compared to the smaller shops around it. We have several floors, and the elevator is a bit slow and makes a clunking sound when it stops. The lobby has those hard chairs that are not very comfortable for long waits, but they are easy to clean. We have a lot of hallways that all look the same, so people sometimes get lost looking for the right room. The air conditioning is always running, which makes it feel very different from the heat outside at the bypass. We have a small canteen in the back that smells like lentils and rice around lunchtime. Our staff stays busy moving from one ward to another. We handle a lot of different things here because of where we are located. It is not a quiet place, but it is an important one for this side of town. We keep the lights on 24 hours a day because you never know when someone might show up at the junction needing help.
