Lakshmi Handloom

Lakshmi Handloom is situated at Plot No-9/34 in the Paparajuthota neighborhood. It’s a place that feels a bit tucked away from the main noise of the town. We have the looms set up in a way that uses most of the available floor space. The sound of the shuttles moving back and forth is the main thing you hear all day long. It’s a rhythmic noise that you stop noticing after a few hours of being here. The air is always a bit thick with tiny bits of thread and lint, which is just how handloom shops are. We keep the doors open mostly to let the breeze through, though it doesn't help much when the midday heat kicks in. Everyone here has their own spot and their own way of doing things. We’ve got piles of yarn in different shades stacked up against the back wall, and sometimes it feels like they might tip over if we aren't careful. It’s not a high-tech place by any means. We do things the old-fashioned way because that’s what we know. There’s a small tap outside where we wash up before going home for the evening. The neighborhood kids sometimes stop by the door to peek in and see what we are making. We don't have fancy brochures or a big sign, just the work hanging on the racks and the sound of the looms keeping us company.
