Ayavat Foundation

We started Ayavat Foundation right here in Jammi Dornala. If you know the area, you know Sy.No.552 is where our little office sits. It is not some big glass building like you see in the cities. We have just a few desks and some chairs where we sit and talk through what needs doing in Prakasam. The walls could use a new coat of paint maybe, but it works for us. Usually, it is quite hot here, so the fan is always running. People from around the village come by sometimes just to say hello or ask about things. We try to keep track of everything in these old notebooks we have stacked up on the corner shelf. It gets a bit dusty because of the road right outside, but we don't mind much. It feels right being in this part of Andhra Pradesh. We spend our mornings drinking tea and looking at the paperwork that piles up. Sometimes the electricity goes out for an hour or two and we just sit outside in the shade of the trees. We’ve been at this for some time now and the neighbors know us well. It’s a simple life in Dornala, and our foundation is just a part of that daily rhythm. We aren't doing anything fancy, just trying to be useful where we can in this corner of the world. It’s just us, a few local people who wanted to do something close to home.
