Stephen Designers

Stephen Designers is located at Plot No. 2, Door No. 6 on Gowriammal Street. We are in the Rajagopal Pillai Nagar part of Porur. We do design work, which involves a lot of drawing and thinking about how spaces or items should look. It’s a quiet office for the most part, except when we are debating over a layout or a sketch. We have a few drafting tables and some computers that have seen better days. It’s a small team here. We started in Porur because it was close to where we lived and we wanted to work for ourselves. Being on Gowriammal Street is nice because it’s tucked away from the heaviest traffic. We get a lot of local clients who just walk in with an idea they have. Sometimes their ideas are great and sometimes we have to explain why something won't work. It’s a back-and-forth process. We don't have a big portfolio on display. Usually, we just show people what we are working on right then and there. It feels more real that way. We use a lot of paper and pencils still, even with the technology we have. There’s just something about sketching it out by hand first. We aren't a big agency; we're just a few people who enjoy the process of making things look right. We keep the doors open most days and just see who comes by with a new project for us to look at.
