The Rashtriya Janata Dal state committee office for the A & N Islands is located in Room No. 97 of the New Mohanpura Vegetable Complex. We are right on Mohanpura Road in Port Blair, which is a very easy place to find because it’s so close to the main bus terminus. Being in a vegetable complex might seem odd to some, but it’s actually great because everyone comes through here. It’s a very grounded place to have an office. We don't have any fancy carpets or air conditioning that works all the time. It’s just a room where we keep our registers and meet with people. The noise from the bus stand and the market is constant, but we’ve grown used to it. It’s a very busy environment, and there is always someone popping their head in to ask a question or share some news. We don't have a professional PR team to write things for us. We just handle the committee’s work ourselves. It’s a lot of talking and listening to what folks in the islands have to say. Sometimes the office gets a bit dusty from the road, but we just sweep it out and keep going. We don't need a polished image to do our job. We just need a place where the people can reach us easily, and Mohanpura is perfect for that.
