Navy Children School

We spend a lot of time here at Navy Children School in Port Blair. Being located at No 1 in Minnie Bay means we are right in the thick of things. People around here know the spot. The building is what you’d expect for a school in this part of the world. It’s got that look of a place where kids have been running around for years. We open up the gates early every morning and stay until the afternoon sun starts to lean a bit. Most of the staff here live nearby, so we’ve seen the neighborhood change over time. It’s a quiet enough area mostly, apart from when the bells ring and everyone starts heading home. Minnie Bay has its own rhythm. The school sits right there at 744103. Sometimes the humidity gets to us, but that is just life in Port Blair. We don't have fancy lobbies or anything, just classrooms and a playground where things get a bit dusty. It’s a straightforward place really. You won't find anything overly polished here. We just go about our day, making sure the rooms are ready and the lights work. It’s a big part of the local landscape. People pass by No 1 all the time on their way to other parts of town. It feels like a solid part of the community, just sitting there in Minnie Bay. We've got our routines and they haven't changed much lately. It’s just how things are here in Port Blair.
