Saurashtra Cement Limited

Out here in Kodinar, things move a little slower than they do in the big cities. Our office is inside Krishnanagar Society, at a place called Raghuvir. It’s house number seven. Since Saurashtra Cement Limited is a big part of the area, everyone knows where we are located. It feels more like a house than a formal office most of the time. We sit around the main room and talk through the daily logistics and shipping issues. There’s a lot of Gujarat sun coming through the windows, so we keep the fans going all day to stay cool. Being in a residential society means we have to be mindful of the neighbors, but they’re mostly used to us by now. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy on the street. It’s just the place where the work happens every day. We talk to the local builders and the guys from the plant down the road. Sometimes a cow wanders past the gate or someone stops by just to chat for a minute about the news. It’s a very practical way to run things. We don't have a lot of fancy technology, just the basics to keep the records straight and the cement moving out to the construction sites. It’s a decent place to spend the day, and we like being part of the community here in this corner of India. It’s just regular people doing a regular job.
