Gayatri Industries

Working out of Plot No. 394 in the GIDC, Gayatri Industries has always been about the daily grind. It’s a solid building, nothing too fancy, but it stands up to the weather and the work. Inside, it’s mostly open space where the main work happens. We don’t really do much in the way of marketing or trying to look bigger than we are. We’re just a local outfit that’s been in this specific plot for a good while. The floor is usually covered in some sort of material we’re working with, and the lights are those long fluorescent tubes that hum if you listen closely. We have a small desk near the front for the phone and the ledger, but most of the time that chair is empty because we’re all out on the floor. Sometimes customers stop by just to check on their orders, and we just talk to them right there amongst the machines. It’s a bit noisy, so you have to talk loud. We’ve got a routine down that involves a lot of lifting and checking and double-checking things before they go out the door. It’s simple work in a lot of ways, but it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. There’s a sense of satisfaction when the day is over and we lock up the gate, knowing everything is sorted for the next morning. It’s just how we operate.
