Sivasakthi Tex

Down in Boyampalayam, the air is always a bit thick with the smell of cotton and the hum of the town. We are located at 1/640, right in the thick of things in Pooluvapatti. It is not a very big space, but Sivasakthi Tex has everything we need to keep moving and getting through the day's work. The street outside is usually dusty, and you can hear the bikes zooming past all day long. Inside, the floors are concrete and we have stacks of material tucked into every corner. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when we get a large delivery in. We’ve been at this address for a long time, so we know the local guys who deliver the water cans and the postman by name. Sometimes the machines get a bit loud, and we have to shout a little to be heard over the noise, but that is just how it is. We don’t have fancy chairs or a lobby for people to sit in. Usually, guests just stand around the cutting table or pull up a plastic stool if one is free. The light comes in through the side door and we keep the fan going at full speed because of the heat. In the evenings, we start winding down and the sound of the town seems to get even louder as everyone heads home. It is a plain way of working, but it works for us. We just keep our heads down and get the work finished.
