B K Agarwal is based at 25, Periyasevaliai, which is a small and peaceful area. We don't have a large corporate headquarters or a bunch of managers in suits. The business is run out of a simple building that doesn't look like much from the outside. We have a few desks and some shelving for our records. The lighting isn't the best, but we have some big windows that let in the breeze when it's not too dusty outside. We spend our days mostly dealing with local people and handling the goods that come through our doors. It isn't a complicated life, and we like it that way. There is no mission statement or grand vision written on the walls. We just want to get through the day's work and make sure everyone is okay with the work we did. The road leading to our place is narrow, so we have to be careful when the delivery vans are arriving. We often have people from the village stop by just to say hello or to ask for advice on something. It is that kind of place. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person to tell our story. We are just here, doing what we know how to do, day in and day out. The rhythm of the village is what guides us, and we are happy to be a small part of it.
