Udhiram Social Welfare Foundation

The Udhiram Social Welfare Foundation is based at No 154 in P.Newlayam. It’s a modest place, just a regular building in a quiet part of town. We didn't see the point in spending money on a fancy office when that money could be used for our welfare work instead. The building has been around for a long time, and it has its quirks, like the windows that don't always open all the way. We spend our days here talking to people from the neighborhood who need a bit of support. It might be help with a government form or just some advice on a local issue. We aren't a big organization with a lot of hierarchy. We just sit around and decide what needs to be done next. Sometimes we have more people than chairs, so some of us end up standing. It’s an informal way of working, but it suits us and the people we help. We don't have any promotional materials or big slogans. Most people find out about us just by walking past or hearing from a friend. We try to be as helpful as we can without making things complicated. It’s just honest, practical work that we do every day. We aren't looking to grow into a huge foundation. We just want to do a good job right here in P.Newlayam. It’s a simple life, and we’re happy to be part of this community. It is worth doing.
