Shasun Pharma Limited

Shasun Pharma Limited is situated out in Kalapet. It’s a bit of a drive from the main town center, but we like being out this way. The air feels a little different being closer to the coast. We have a lot of local folks from the surrounding villages working with us here. The facility is fairly large, and there is always some kind of maintenance or work being done on one of the units. It’s a pharmaceutical plant, so things are pretty structured in terms of how we move through the day. We start early, usually before the sun gets too hot, because once midday hits, it can get quite warm in this part of the country. We don't really have any big corporate slogans hanging on the walls. Mostly, there are just safety signs and schedules pinned to the boards. Our cafeteria is where most of the actual talking happens. We talk about the weather or how the local cricket matches are going. The work itself is steady. We make stuff that people need, and we try to do it without making mistakes. It is a lot of routine, checking gauges and signing off on logs. It’s not the kind of thing you’d see in a movie, but it is how we keep the place running. Being in Kalapet gives us a bit more space than we would have in the city. We appreciate the quieter pace.
