Our place is tucked away in the Pipdic Industrial Estate over in Mettupalayam. We are at B 123 on the 20th Cross, which isn't too hard to find once you get inside the estate gates. It’s an industrial area, so it’s mostly just rows of buildings and the sound of work happening. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a good bit of time. The mornings usually start with a lot of tea and figuring out what needs to be moved or processed for the day. It’s just a group of us who know the trade. We don’t have a big corporate team or anything. It's just the folks on the floor and a small desk for the paperwork. Mettupalayam has its own pace, and we kind of just fit into that. There’s always someone coming by to drop something off or pick something up. The 20th Cross can get a bit crowded with lorries sometimes, so you have to be careful where you park. We like being part of the industrial community here. Everyone knows everyone else's business to some extent. We keep our machines maintained and try to keep the dust down, though that’s a losing battle in an estate like this. We just keep our heads down and do the work we know how to do. It’s nothing spectacular, just honest work every day. The chai stall around the corner is where we all end up at five.
