Madhumitha Travels

Our office is at 138, Sunami Nagar in Pondicherry. It’s a residential sort of area, so it’s not as loud as the main bazaar, which we like. Madhumitha Travels has been running from this spot for quite a while now. The building is just a regular house-turned-office. We have a small area in the front where we handle the business. There’s usually a pot of tea sitting somewhere and plenty of files scattered around. We don't go in for fancy decor or anything like that. It’s just a practical space where we can focus on getting people their tickets or sorting out their travel plans. Sunami Nagar is a place where everyone knows each other. You see the same people walking their dogs or going to the shop every morning. We get a lot of our work through word of mouth. Someone’s cousin needs a van, so they tell them to come see us at 138. That’s how it goes. We don't spend time writing big ads or trying to sound like a huge corporation. We are just a local business trying to make a living. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s what’s inside that matters. We stay busy with the daily routine of checking routes and talking to drivers. It’s a steady life and we are happy to be part of the community here. We just show up and do the job every day as best we can.
