Our office is over at No 66 on Vazhudavur Road in the Pettiyanchatiram area of Pondicherry. It is a bit away from the main beach side of town, but it is a busy spot in its own right. We have a small setup here where we handle local travel and long-distance trips for people in the neighborhood. The road outside is always full of vehicles and sometimes it gets a little dusty when the wind blows. We have a basic office with a few chairs and a desk where we keep our logbooks and the computer. It’s not a polished corporate space, just a regular workplace where we spend our hours talking to drivers and customers. We usually start the day early to make sure all the morning departures are on track. Most of our work is done over the phone, but we do have people walking in to ask about rates for taxis or to book a trip to the airport. The fan makes a bit of noise, but it keeps the place cool enough. We like being in Pettiyanchatiram because we know a lot of the folks who live around here. We don’t have a big marketing budget or anything like that; we just rely on people knowing where we are and what we do. It’s a practical way to run a business. We focus on the daily tasks and making sure the bookings are recorded correctly in our ledger.
