Our place is at No 16 in Erulan Santhai Kuruvinatham. It is tucked away in the Manapet area, which is part of the Bahour Commune in Pondicherry. Most people who live around here know where we are. It is not a huge office, just a small space where we manage the vehicles and the schedules. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who walk in from the street. The area is usually calm, but we stay busy enough with the travel work. We have been operating from this same spot for a good amount of time. Every morning we check the cars and make sure everything is ready for whoever needs a ride. Being in the Bahour Commune means we see a lot of the same faces every day. It feels like a small community here. We don't use big fancy computers for everything; a lot of it is just notes and talking. If you are coming from the main part of Manapet, you just look for the number 16. The drivers usually hang around the front when they aren't out on a trip. It gets a bit dusty on the road sometimes, but that is part of the life here. We just focus on getting people where they need to go without making a big fuss about it. It is honest work and it keeps us occupied from morning until late evening.
