Saravana Interiors And Furnitures is out on No. 4100 Sea Sea Ecr Road. Being on the Ecr Road means we see a lot of cars passing by all day long. Inside the shop, things are a bit different. It is usually filled with the sound of saws and the smell of wood glue. We spend our time putting together different pieces of furniture and planning out how to fit things into rooms. There is sawdust almost everywhere, no matter how much we sweep up at the end of the day. We have various pieces of wood leaning against the walls and tools scattered across the workbenches. It is honest work and it keeps our hands busy. Sometimes the wood doesn't cut exactly how we want it to, or a certain finish takes longer to dry because of the humidity from the sea nearby. We don't have a big showroom with bright lights. Instead, we have our workshop where you can see things being made from scratch. It is a bit noisy and can get quite hot in the middle of the day when the sun hits the roof. We just drink plenty of water and keep at it. People stop by to see what we are working on or to talk about a cupboard they need. We just tell them what we can do and how long it will take.
