Omm Sakthi Hollow Block

My yard, Omm Sakthi Hollow Block, is located over at 787/2 Murugan Layout on Udumalai Road. We spend most of our time out in the sun making blocks for local buildings. It’s heavy work, and our hands are always covered in cement dust, but it’s what we do. The machine runs pretty much all day when the weather is clear. We’ve got a good space here in the layout, so there’s room for the trucks to come in and load up. I didn't set this up to be some massive factory. It’s just a steady business where we focus on getting the mix right so the blocks hold up. If you walk past, you’ll see rows of them drying out. We don’t use any complicated sales talk or anything like that. People just come by, tell us how many blocks they need for their wall or house, and we figure out when they can pick them up. Sometimes the delivery truck is running late because of traffic on Udumalai Road, but we try to keep things moving. It’s a simple operation. We’ve got a few workers who’ve been with me for a long time. We know the neighbors and the local builders. Being in this spot for a while now, we’ve seen a lot of changes in the area. We just keep making blocks one at a time. It’s simple, hard work, and that’s how we like it.
