Uthara Fashion

Uthara Fashion is located at 57 Elango Street in Mahalingapuram. It is a quiet enough street most of the time, though it picks up when people are coming home from work. The building is just a normal one, nothing that stands out too much from the outside. Inside, we have our racks and some tables where we do the folding and checking. We’ve been here for a bit now, and the neighbors know us. It’s mostly about keeping the stock organized and making sure the clothes look right before they go out. There is always a lot of thread on the floor by the end of the day, no matter how much we sweep. We have some chairs for people to sit if they are waiting, but mostly it is just a place of work. Elango Street has a few other shops, so there’s always someone walking past the window. We don’t do much advertising; people just find us or hear about the shop from someone else in Mahalingapuram. It gets a bit cramped when a new shipment arrives, and we have to move all the boxes. We just try to keep things moving and stay busy. It isn't a corporate office with a lobby or anything like that. Just a local spot where we handle our fashion business and talk to the people who stop in. Every day is pretty much the same routine of opening up, checking the lists, and getting to work.
