Annam Palpporul Angadi

If you walk down Coimbatore Road in Annur, you’ll find us at 15/183. Annam Palpporul Angadi has been sitting here for a bit, just serving whoever comes through the door. It’s a basic shop where we keep the shelves stocked with the usual things people need for their homes. We don't have a website or fancy ads, just the sign out front and whatever we have in stock that day. Some days are really quiet and we just sit and talk, but then it gets busy when people are coming home from work and need to pick up a few things. We try to keep track of what the neighbors like so we don't run out of the basics. The building isn't brand new or anything, but it stays cool enough in the heat. We handle everything ourselves, from unloading the crates to sweeping the floor at night. It’s just how a local shop runs in a place like Annur. We know most of the people who stop by by their first names and they know us too. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit messy but we sort it out eventually. There isn't a big philosophy behind it, we just wanted to run a store on this road and we’ve been doing it. We open early because that's when the first buses start moving on Coimbatore Road. It’s practical work and it keeps us busy.
