If you walk down Main Road in Podili, you'll see our spot at 26/14/96. It’s nothing fancy, just a shop called Vamsi Drinks. Most days it’s pretty hot out here, and the dust from the road gets on everything if we don’t keep the shutters halfway down. I’ve lived in Podili for a long time, and being right here on the main stretch means we see everyone passing by. The building is an older one, with those thick walls that stay a bit cooler in the summer, though the fridge humming in the corner does its best to warm things back up. We spend a lot of time just moving crates around and making sure things are where they belong. It gets loud when the buses go past, shaking the glass a little. There’s a lot of chatter from the neighbors and people stopping in to get away from the sun for a minute. We don’t have any big signs or bright lights, just the name Vamsi Drinks painted on the front. Sometimes the mail gets mixed up because the numbering on Main Road is a bit confusing, but 26/14/96 is where we stay. It's a simple life, mostly just checking the stock and talking to the regulars who come by every afternoon. It’s not a big corporate operation, just us here in Podili trying to keep the drinks cold and the shop running right. We focus on the daily tasks and hope for a bit of a breeze.
