Nilavan Organics

Nilavan Organics is located on Chettipalayam Road in Podanur. It’s a busy road with a lot of cars going past. We have a small shop where we keep our organic stuff. Most of it comes from the local farms. We don't have any fancy packaging. We just put things in bags and hand them over. The shop is a bit small, so it gets crowded quickly. We have some shelves made of old wood. It smells like earth and dried herbs in here. We spend our days talking to the farmers and then talking to the customers. It’s a lot of chatting. Some people come in just to say hello. We don't have a computer system. We just write everything down in a notebook. It’s easier that way for us. Podanur is a good place to be. The weather is usually okay, though it gets dusty from the road. We have a small stool outside where we sit when there are no customers. We don't try to sell people things they don't need. They just pick what they want. It’s a very relaxed way of doing business. Sometimes we run out of things and we have to wait for the next harvest. People understand how it works. It’s not a big warehouse, just a local spot for honest food. We like it that way.
