Universal Book Sellers

Universal Book Sellers is located near the General BS Joshy Army Public School on Cant Road. Our location is a bit outside the main city center, which makes it a slightly calmer place to shop for books. Being on Cant Road means we see a lot of families from the army quarters and students from the nearby school. The shop is a decent size, but we’ve managed to fill it up with books of all kinds over the years. We have fiction, textbooks, and some stationary supplies too. It’s not a high-end bookstore with a cafe or anything like that. It’s just rows of wooden shelves and a simple counter where we ring things up. The floors are a bit creaky in places and some of the books have been on the shelves long enough for the edges to turn a little yellow. We like it that way, though. It feels like a real place for people who actually enjoy reading. Sometimes the wind blows the dust in from Cant Road, so we spend a fair amount of time with a cloth in hand, wiping down the covers. We don't do much advertising; most people find out about us because they pass by on their way to the school or hear about us from a neighbor. It’s a steady kind of life, opening up at the same time every day and seeing the same faces come in. We just keep things running and make sure there’s always something new to look at.
