Our facility is at Plot No. 112 in Sector 1. It’s a fairly large space because we need the room for the machinery. We make components for engines. If you walk inside, the first thing you’ll notice is the constant hum of the machines. It never really stops during the day. We’ve got a lot of different sections on the floor, each doing something specific to a part. It’s precision work, even if the floor looks a bit worn out from all the activity. We have a lot of workers who have been here for a long time. They’ve seen the different models of engines come and go. Mahle Engine Components India Pvt. Ltd. isn't a new name, but we try to keep our local operations simple. We don't have a lot of layers of management. You can usually find the person in charge right there on the shop floor with everyone else. We deal with a lot of metal, so it gets noisy and hot, especially in the middle of the day. We take our breaks together and talk about whatever is happening in the news. It’s a straightforward environment. We focus on making the parts right so there are no issues later on. Sector 1 is a good spot for us, easy enough for the trucks to get in and out. We just keep our heads down and get the production done.
