Anoop Plywood Agency is right on the Pinjore Kalka Highway in Teh Kalka. It’s a very busy spot because of all the people traveling toward the hills. We deal with plywood sheets and timber mostly. The whole place smells like fresh cut wood and sawdust, which is actually quite nice. We have huge stacks of plywood leaning against the walls. You have to be careful when you walk through the aisles so you don't catch your sleeve on a splinter. We spend a lot of our time loading sheets onto the back of small trucks or trailers. It’s heavy work and it keeps you in shape. The highway noise is something you stop hearing after a while. We have a small area in the front where we show the different thicknesses and types of wood available. There is no air conditioning, just the breeze coming through the open front. We use a heavy marker to write the prices and sizes directly on the wood sometimes. It’s a practical way of doing things. Our customers are mostly local builders or people trying to fix up their own houses. We don't do any fancy marketing. People see the signs on the highway and they just pull in. We give them a fair price and help them tie the load down. It’s a decent way to spend the day.
