KGL Dharamkata

Operating a dharamkata here in Sherpur Kala keeps us pretty busy with all the trucks and tractors coming through. We are located in Ward No. 9, right near the Jama Masjid, so it's a spot most folks in the Puranpur area know well. It isn't a complicated business, but it's important for the farmers and drivers around here to get things weighed right. We see a lot of familiar faces every day. The weather out here can be tough sometimes, either too dusty or muddy when it rains, but the scales keep running. We’ve been part of the village life for a bit now. You’ll usually find us sitting outside when things are quiet, waiting for the next load to show up. It’s a practical kind of job. We don’t have fancy waiting rooms or anything like that, just a place to get the work done and get back on the road. Being near the mosque means there’s always people moving about, which is nice. We just do our thing and try to be helpful to whoever stops by. It’s a local operation, nothing more and nothing less. Most days go by pretty fast because there’s always something needing to be weighed or some paperwork to sort out. We just try to keep the scale accurate and the line moving so nobody is waiting too long in the sun.
