Amberdeep Mutual Benefit Nidhi Limited is situated in Sampurna Nagar, specifically in the village of Singhai Khurd within Lakhimpur Kheri. Out here, things move at a different pace than they do in the big cities. We set up this Nidhi because we saw that our neighbors needed a way to save money and get small loans without a lot of hassle. Most of our members are involved in farming or local trades. The office is right in the heart of the village, so it’s easy for people to stop by while they are out doing their chores. We don't have any fancy carpets or air conditioning that works all the time, but we have enough chairs for everyone who visits. It gets a bit noisy during harvest time, but we don't mind. We spend our time writing in the ledgers and making sure the deposits are all accounted for. There is no corporate talk here; we just speak plain English and the local language. We try to be helpful when someone has a question about their account. It's a very practical way of doing things. Being in Singhai Khurd means we are part of the daily life of the village. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, we just want to be the one that our neighbors can actually talk to.
