Our office is in Phulwari Sharif, right inside the Sushil Plaza building. It’s a pretty lively spot because of the Cineplex nearby. Sometimes you can hear the muffled sound of a movie or the crowds outside while we’re trying to balance the books. Patna is a busy place, and Phulwarisharif has its own kind of energy. We’ve been set up here for a while, dealing with all kinds of audit and tax stuff. The office isn't very large, but we’ve got enough room for our desks and the rows of cupboards where we store client records. It’s a bit of a maze of paper in here. We spend a lot of time on the phone or responding to emails. People come in from all over the city, often complaining about the traffic on the way. We just offer them a seat and start looking through their documents. It’s not glamorous work. It’s mostly checking columns of numbers and making sure no one made a typo on a form. We don't have any fancy mission statements on the wall. We just have a calendar with deadlines circled in red ink. Every day is pretty much the same: we come in, open the shutters, turn on the lights, and start working through the pile. It’s what we know how to do, and being near the cinema makes the evenings a bit more interesting when the crowds gather after the shows.
