Udaya Traders

Udaya Traders is right across from the railway station in Phalodi. It’s a handy spot because there’s always people moving about. We’ve been here for years, and the station noise has just become part of the background for us. We trade various goods that local people need. It’s a simple operation. I usually open up early in the morning when the first trains start coming in. We don’t have a big team, just a couple of us helping out. The shop is full of boxes and bags most of the time. It gets hot in Phalodi, so we have a couple of fans going all day. We don’t do much fancy marketing. People just see the sign when they get off the train. We deal with suppliers and customers face-to-face. It’s more personal that way. Sometimes we sit outside on stools when it’s quiet. We’ve seen the station change over time, but our shop stays pretty much the same. We just want to provide what’s needed and make a living. There’s no big corporate strategy here. We just know what sells and we try to keep it in stock. If you’re ever catching a train or just nearby, stop by and say hello. We’re usually here until late evening. It’s a honest day’s work for us every single day.
