Praveen & Company

Phalodi is a place that gets famous for the heat, and sitting here at Jawahar Piaou, we definitely feel it. Praveen & Company is a small operation, mostly just me and a helper. We are located right where people stop for water at the piaou, so there is always some activity outside. Jodhpur 342301 is a bit far from the main city center, but we like the pace here. The building we are in is old and the ceiling fan wobbles a bit when it's on high speed. We spend the mornings sorting through our inventory and the afternoons just trying to stay cool. There isn't any fancy decor in the shop, just some old calendars on the wall and a few chairs for guests. People in Phalodi are straightforward, and we try to be the same way. We don't use big words or try to act like we are a huge corporation. We are just a local company doing our thing day by day. Sometimes the mailman stops by for a long chat because he's tired of the sun. It’s those small moments that make the day pass. The shop smells like old paper and a bit of dry earth. It’s not much, but it belongs to us. We’ve been at this address for a long time and don't plan on moving. I think the bricks in these walls have seen more history than I ever will.
