Bharat Provision Store

Bharat Provision Store is located out in Phalodi, which is part of the Jodhpur district. We are in the Raika Bag area of Sadar Bazar. It gets very hot here in the desert, so the shop is built with thick walls to stay a bit cooler. We focus on provisions, which means a lot of flour, oil, and spices that people need for their daily cooking. Since we are in a smaller town like Phalodi, we know almost everyone who walks through the door. It’s not just about selling things; it’s about catching up on what’s happening in the village. The sacks of rice are piled up high in the back room. We have to be careful about the storage because of the dust that blows in when the wind picks up. The lighting inside is a bit dim, but it’s enough to see what’s on the shelves. We don't have a big staff, just me and my brother taking turns. We usually keep a large pot of water for anyone who is thirsty from the walk. The storefront is quite plain, just the name painted in red above the door. People don't come here for a fancy experience; they come because they know the stock is fresh and the weights are honest. It’s been our way of doing things for a long time. There is no need for anything more complicated than that.
